Wainwright & Sons (Risborough) Ltd., 69 High Street, Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, 2007 • Formerly Grover, according to the doorstep, and in its last days here. Google Street View showes it vacant in 2008, and it’s now a gift shop called Alphabet Soup.
Wonderful shop, beautiful sign writing, many thanks for sharing this. It’s good that the new shop has kept the original shop front.
Yes, not a roller shutter in sight! Seriously, isn’t it a pity the fashion for mosaic steps went out, both practical and beautiful.
Yes, very sad. Shops, in general now see signage and presentation as an expense, not an investment. Our high streets look shabby rather than proud of themselves. It’s possible to do mosaics, or even printed concrete but we have yet to do any so far (although we are about to do a digitally printed tiled sign and have designed a huge digitally printed tiled mural).
Printed concrete – blimey!
