Fashion House Ltd, Wakerley Centre, Margaret Road (off Gwendolen Road), Leicester LE5, 2016 • Bonkers mini-castle in a fascinating and unusual suburb developed by Leicester philanthropist/architect Arthur Wakerley, who pioneered council housing. He’s notable for combining industrial works and living areas, which are normally kept separate. Wakerley himself lived nearby, and many roads are named after female family members. This building was originally Royal Leicestershire Rutland and Wycliffe Society for the Blind and is now a small business cenre.
