The Love Shack

The Love Shack, corner of Old Hall Street and Goodson Street, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, 2010 • A touch of gaudy grandeur amidst modernist monoliths in much-maligned Stoke, currently bidding to be the UK’s capital of culture 2021. Known until the 1990s as The Woodman pub, then for a brief period Scruffy Murphy’s, this love shack did not entice, and is now closed down and restored to monochrome sobriety.
