Clifford Shirt M’f’g. Co. Ltd., 37-43 Berry Street, Liverpool L1, 2003 • ‘Royal’, what an evocative area code! This is my last Liverpool shopfront for now, in the red and green so characteristic of the city. Planning records refer to this building as Bakery Works, and reveal that it was under threat of demolition when I photographed it. Now restored, it houses groovy tapas bar Neon Jamón – aptly named given the amount of neon shop signs in the area.
