Frankle Trimmings

Frankle Trimmings, 281-285 Bethnal Green Road, Borough of Tower Hamlets, London E2, 2005 • Art deco cinema, now a trimmings emporium. Apparently it was renovated 2005, maybe just before I took this; it’s still there, looking graffitied. Opened in 1913 as Smart’s Picture House, it was remodelled as seen here in 1938 to become the Rex. In 1948 it gained the wonderful name Essoldo, and became a bingo hall 1964. There’s more info on the very informative blogpost here.
