Jeeves & Jericho, Corn Exchange, Corn Exchange, Call Lane, Leeds, West Yorkshire, 2014 • 1920s flat-cap geezer meets 1990s Mancs baggy in cartoon collision of two tea-pouring Northern stereotypes. And all in the stunning arena of Leeds Corn Exchange, which is being refurbished as a hipster shopping arcade. The ultra-wide angle shots are courtesy of my new camera – I love it sooo much! (Sony Nex 6, cheap as chips for what you get … the latest iteration is called the Sony a6000, in case anyone’s interested.)
I used to love going into this place after my meetings with Asda (a previous life designing packaging for big corporate companies, long behind us now!). I’m glad it’s getting a second life. It’s an incredible building.
What was in it when you used to go there?
That 3rd shot is immense! Really from just one shot?
Yes, it’s an ultra wide lens, equivalent to 16mm on a full frame slr camera. Good fun!
Went on an Rurex trip last night (Rural Exploration, (c) Me 2014) – we might be the only ones to ever visit parts of this location before it’s demolished. Imagine my joy when I loaded up my Alpha 100 to find 70% of the images corrupted, albeit with some slightly arty results in one case! It has to be an A6000, what a great excuse to buy one…
Rurex, what a brilliant coinage. What location were you rurexing (if it’s not too secret)? Re the pix, surely the problem is with the card, not the camera? But any excuse to get a new camera! A6000 looks good.
