Christmas Bargain Store (Dewhurst), 135 High Street, Poole, Dorset, 2004 • Ah, the grim pursuit of festive cheer. Everyone looks fed up. The baby’s bum is hanging out. The D of defunct Dewhurst butcher’s is falling off. It’s been replaced by a sagging Christmas Bargain Store sign. Dewhursts was a cheap downmarket chain to start with. Gloom. It’s now, I think, a PDSA charity shop.
Fantastic shot, perfectly capturing the christmas spirit – Cheap wrapping paper and twinkly lights. The sign says it all! 😉
Potentially lovely shop front.
Not reachable on google street view so don’t know what it looks like now…
When did Christmas go from gaudy colours to mainly that there ?
