  1. This shop was an actual Bakers…I worked here from 1968-1988 when it closed down..was owned by Edwin T Baker…Then passed over to his son Bill & daughter Bessie.

  2. I remember it well, I moved across the road in 1987 (and am still there!) I was so sad when it closed, just after Hurricane Emily…

  3. Hi, I’m the daughter in law of Muriel Pitcher nee BAKER. Her Grandfather was E.T Baker and her father continued to run the shop later. Muriel’s brother Bill & sister Bess ran the shop until they sold it in the 80s.
    Bill & Muriel are still living in Potters Bar & Torquay respectively.
    I am interested in Family History, so was happy to find this photo.

Could you tell me what it sold? Ah, sorry, I see from the comments above someone has already explained it was an actual bakers.
