  1. I remember this place from the early 1980s. The little guy who flipped the burgers and toasted the buns, he worked so hard at the hotplate behind that counter.

  2. My first day at University, in 1984, I had my breakfast at the Wimpy in Holborn. I looked out of the window to see a man, completely naked, except for socks and shoes, bowler hat, umbrella and briefcase, striding down Kingsway. I went back many times for the tasty food. The little guy who flipped the burgers was extremely upset when they had to start wearing hats.

  3. I worked there in 1992. It was owned by two Persians (never call them Iranians) called Abdi and Massoud. The chef was a little North Cypriot called Ali. Table service on the first floor. Lunchtime was exhausting running up and down stairs.
