Used to walk past this place (or ride past) at least twice a day. Despite being exactly My Sort Of Thing, I never went in. And I still don’t know why. I can only think that it was because back then (late 90s) these sort of places were still quite common. George’s Cafe on Leytonstone High Road lost its Pepsi sign very recently. The inside remains gloriously unaltered. Lots of formica and black and white photos of celebs who’ve been in – like Mike Reid, who seems to have visited every cafe in East London.
